Regional Water Treatment Plant – Phase III and Phase IV Improvements Project

In 2012, PKG was a successful bidder on the water treatment plant in Williston, North Dakota. To ensure the water demands for the City of Williston could be met, the expansion was completed in two phases. Phase III increased water production from 7 million gallons a day (MGD) to 14 MGD. Improvements included a 12,000 sq ft precast building and a million-gallon concrete clear well. This project was completed during the oil boom in North Dakota, making deliveries and accommodations a challenge.

Phase IV began in 2014, increasing production from 14 MGD to 21 MGD. PKG installed three 4,000 GMP vertical turbine pumps, an 80-ton lime storage silo on the existing lime feed system, and a 130-ton lime storage silo with lime slaker and transfer system. There was site piping and valve ranging from 6-inch to 36-inch hydrants and manholes and the construction of a new pre-sedimentation basin.
